Assessment & Certification

Assessment in the American High School Diploma (AHSD) program is continuous and multifaceted. A student’s final grade in each course is not based on a single exam but on cumulative performance throughout the semester or year. This includes:

Formative Assessments: Such as quizzes, homework, class participation, and presentations to measure ongoing progress.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Summative Assessments: Such as major exams, research papers, projects, and portfolios that evaluate understanding of larger units of material.                                                                                                                                                                                               Standardized Tests:

  • EST Exam (Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature, Economics)
  • SAT I Exam: A computer-adaptive test with two main sections: English Language Reading and Writing, and Math
  • AP Exams administered by the College Board, which measure a high school student’s mastery of a specific AP course. Scoring high on an AP exam can allow students to earn college credit or advanced placement in college courses, potentially saving time and tuition costs.

Official Diploma: Students graduate with the American High School Diploma, accredited locally and internationally. To earn the diploma, students must successfully complete a required number of credits in core subjects.
